J. B. Abernathy of Fordyce, Ark., spent several days last week in the home
of his sister, Mrs. J. T. Wesson.
Walter Fuller Baker and his roommate came over from A. & M. for the
weekend and were guests of the formers parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Baker.
Miss Lois Carr returned to Belhaven Tuesday night, after spending a few days
here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. T. Carr.
J. E. Hopkins, principal of the school at Avon, spent a few days here with
his mother, Mrs. Olive Hopkins, last week.
Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Brasfield are visiting their son and family, Mr. R. O.
Brasfield at Lorman.
Miss Myrtie Fox left last week for Pelahatchie, to visit her brother, Mr.
Howard Fox and family.
Dr. and Mrs. S. Prichard of Battle Creek, Mich., are registered at the
Woodward Hotel. Dr. Prichard came down for a hunting trip. Their friends are
heartily receiving them.
Miss Hallie Parkes of Belhaven came over for Thanksgiving with her parents,
Dr. and Mrs. W. W. Parkes.
Married: Mr. William Kirkpatrick, second son of Mrs. Clara Kirkpatrick, and
Miss Gussie May Ellis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Ellis, were married
November 28th at the Methodist Church with Rev. W. L. Storment officiating.
Noxapater: The Fair Company Store here under the management of H. B.
Caperton is staging a big sale to begin Friday morning of this week.
Noxapater: Mr. H. F. Boswell of south town is having some substantial
improvements made on his residence, which adds much to the appearance as well
as comfort.
Noxapater: Mrs. (Dr.) T. E. Jarvis of Newton was a guest of her sister, Mrs.
T. M. Yarbrough during the Thanksgiving season. She was enroute to visit her
daughter, Miss Lucile, who is a student at M.S.C.W., in Columbus.
Noxapater: Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Gunn were called to Decatur by the illness of
their son, Rev. J. H. Gunn. His friends are gratified to learn that he has
entirely recovered.
Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Baker and baby and brother of Warren, Ark., have been the
pleasant guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Baker the past week.
