New Dentist Locates in Atoka: Under the above heading the Atoka, Oklahoma,
paper has the announcement of Dr. Mike Lynch moving to that city. Dr. Linch is
a native of our county and has many relatives here in Winston.
Mrs. Olyn Parkes and little daughter, Joy, returned Sunday where they spent
last week with their mother, Mrs. Dora Rollins.
Friends of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Davis sympathize with them in the death of their
infant daughter, which occurred in a Memphis hospital a few days ago.
Jack Dempsey left Monday for Charleston where he will work in the Bank of
Charleston.
Mrs. E. F. Chaney is visiting her father at Dancy.
Senator and Mrs. J. B. Gully came over from Jackson and spent the weekend
here with relatives.
Dr. C. A. Kirk of Fearn Springs is taking a six weeks course post graduate
work, at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Joe McCully is in Carthage this week on business.
Miss Elizabeth King, age 26, died at her home on Columbus Avenue Monday
morning. She was the daughter of the late James King and Mrs. Nannie King.
Survivors include her mother, four sisters and two brothers.
Betheden: We are having such bad weather and the roads are so bad school has
been suspended for a week.
Betheden: Mr. T. E. Patterson had the misfortune to cut his hand very badly
one day last week while splitting stovewood. Twenty-five stitches were required
to sew up the wound. We understand he is doing nicely now.
Noxapater: Frank Bryan left the past week for the Veterans Hospital at
Alexandria, La.
Noxapater: James Gallaspy, Frank Caperton, Rupert Glenn, Noel Callahan and
Perry McPherson of A. & M. College were here for the weekend.
Noxapater: Miss Martha Johnson, a student of A. H. S. here, spent the
weekend with home folks at Zama. She was accompanied home by Mrs. Rebecca
Moore, who has been on a visit with relatives here.
Noxapater: Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Woodruff of the Rocky Hill community were
guests of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gale Johnson here Sunday.
