MOORE / KERR
The 1850 Winston County MS Census Record #213/216 - Moore, John F. 37 and wife Emily 36 both born Mecklinburg NC. Does anyone know if John's Father was William Moore that married Polly Fitten (in 2-19-1805 Mecklinburg NC) and if the initial F. stands for Fitten? The death of both are important also. And after Emily's death he remarried whom?
There is so many Moore's in this County during this era. Also, is John a brother to Isaiah C. F. Moore 35 in same census #409/413? I have info on Emily's family, but I need to verify her John. Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Surname: MONTGOMERY / KEENE / LEVER / WEEMS
MONTGOMERY, William (1807-1891) SC AL MS also KEENE, LEVER, WEEMS, lived in Choctaw County MS - post for adjoining or nearby counties may have had relatives in Winston County MS
I am trying to find information on the ancestry of my great-great grandfather William MONTGOMERY (1807-1891) b. 22 FEB 1807, d. 13 MAY 1891. Conflicting census records indicate that he may have been born in SC, TN, or AL. SC is most likely. He settled permanently in Choctaw Co., MS in 1838 or 1839. On 7 Aug. 1838, he leased 240 acres in Section 16 of Township 17 for 99 years. Section 16 of each township was leased to provide support for the schools. There is a Masonic emblem on his tombstone in South Union Cemetery, Choctaw Co., MS. I have unverified information that William's father was Andrew MONTGOMERY b. Mecklenburg County NC ca. 1785. Andrew's father was James MONTGOMERY b. Lancaster County PA ca. 1735/45. James' parents were John MONTGOMERY Sr. and Martha ? both born in Ireland and immigrated ca. 1735.
My great-great grandmother MONTGOMERY was Martha Ann ? (1816-1888) b. ca. 1816, d. 10 SEP 1888. Conflicting census records indicate that she may have born in SC, GA, or AL. SC is most likely. According to the 1880 Census, her parents were born in SC. Her maiden name was possibly WEEMS. There was a marriage bond for a William MONTGOMERY and Martha WEEMS dated 29 DEC 1833 in Jefferson County AL, but I have no proof that this is my William and Martha. Another clue is the death certificate of the youngest daughter of William and Martha Ann MONTGOMERY. Her name was Sarah (Sallie) MONTGOMERY MOSS. The death certificate in 1928 lists her mother as Mary W??????. The rest of the maiden name is illegible - maybe Wiemmes. William, Martha and their children were members of New Zion Baptist Church.
The children of William and Martha Ann MONTGOMERY were: Jonathan - b. AL ca. 1834 d. TX 1882, private C.S.A. 1862-1865, spouse Mary Elizabeth RICHARDS b. AL 1834 d. TX 1917, their children - William George. b. MS 1854 d. TX 1924, Emma Jean b. MS ca. 1856, Lou Ella/Louisa b. MS ca. 1858, Martha Ann b. MS ?. Amanda Jane - b. AL (1836-1890), spouse (1) William Eli BLAIN (2) John R. BAYS. Nancy Ann - b. AL (1839-1882), spouse James Wesley BLAIN b. SC, (1832-1864). Elizabeth - b. MS ca. 1840. Anderson S. - b. MS (1842-1862), private C.S.A. 1861-1862 died in captivity St. Louis, MO. Jackson - b. MS ca. 1844. Sarah (Sallie) - b. MS, (1847-1928), spouse (1) Thomas ROBINSON (2) Doc C. MOSS. William Samuel (my great grandfather) - b. MS, (1850-1884), spouse Harriet Elizabeth KEENE . b. MS, (1851-1940), their children - Martha Elizabeth b. MS (1873-1875), Anna Kate b. MS (1874-1950), spouse Monroe L. McCLURE, James Anderson b. MS (1877-1931) spouse Lela BARRON b. MS 1881, Lovie b. MS (1879-1879), Elizabeth b. MS (1880-1926) spouse James Robert POWER b. MS (1877-1948), Anna Bell b. MS (1881-1884), William Samuel (my grandfather) b. MS (1885-1966), spouse Nena Bertha EVANS b. LA (1892-1982).
