John Boatman and Mary Jackson. Sarah was b.1834 Butler Co AL and d.1870 or after in LA or MS. Thomas died by 1857 and Sarah married James Crawford or Croffard. Thomas and Sarah's son, George Washington Kelley moved to TX with his Boatman relatives, his mother Sarah remaining behind. She wrote to George until about 1870 when her letters stopped. She mentioned being in an asylum (visiting?) at one point. Was there such an asylum in LA or MS in the 1860-1870s? If so, where was it? Would love to find death/burial info on both Thomas and Sarah Ann Boatman Kelley. Thanks! They are my great grandparents on my mother's (Mary Margret Johnston) maternal side.
